Who we are
This website, liveloveworkcalgary.com, is operated by Derek Bryer (licensed name Derek John Bryer), Associate, licensed by the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA), with the brokerage EXP Realty of Canada Inc. The law that applies
In Alberta, the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) is the privacy law for provincially regulated private-sector businesses. Commercial emails and texts are also covered by Canada's anti-spam law (CASL). This notice is general information about how this site works. It is not legal advice.
What we collect
The site has two forms: a contact form and a home evaluation form. Through them we receive:
- Your name, email address and phone number
- The property address, if you choose to give one, along with your community and timeline
- Any message you type and a record that you ticked the consent box
The site has no home search, no sold-price lookup and no visitor accounts, so we hold no passwords or search histories. It carries no map, no advertising pixels and no third-party customer system script.
How we use it
We use your details to reply to your question, to prepare a home evaluation if you asked for one and to follow up about the topic you raised. We do not use them for anything unrelated without asking you first.
Where it goes
Each submission is stored in a database on Cloudflare and emailed to Derek Bryer. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare Turnstile checks each submission to screen out spam, which means Cloudflare briefly processes a challenge token and basic technical details from your browser.
Cloudflare is a United States company, so your information may be handled outside Canada while it is processed. We do not sell your information and we do not hand it to advertisers.
If you later hire Derek Bryer to buy or sell a home, the details needed to complete that work may be shared with the parties involved, such as the brokerage, lawyers and lenders.
Email, text and CASL
We ask for your consent on each form before we send you commercial electronic messages. You can withdraw it at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email, by replying to say stop or by writing to [email protected]. A reply to the question you asked is not a marketing message.
Your choices and your rights
Under PIPA you can ask for access to your own personal information held by a business. Write to [email protected]. We also welcome requests to correct or delete what you sent us. We will act on them unless we need to keep a record for a legal or regulatory reason.
If you believe your information was collected, used or disclosed improperly, you can file a complaint with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta (oipc.ab.ca). We would like the chance to fix the problem first.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as they help us serve you or as long as the rules for licensed real estate professionals in Alberta require, then we delete them.
Blog and photos
Some blog posts are drafted with an AI writing tool and reviewed before they are published. The writing tool does not receive anything you submit through our forms. Community photos come from Wikimedia Commons. See photo credits.
Security and changes
The site is served over HTTPS and form submissions are checked on the server before they are saved. If this notice changes we will update this page and the date above. For other pages see our terms of use and accessibility statement. Questions are welcome on the contact page.
